True Fedex Stories and Rants

Well I was 18 years old just graduated High School and was delivering auto parts in Kearney N.J. waiting for a job interview at Newark Airport for this place called Federal Express. I never even heard of the company, saw the ad spots every now an then but you know I was a Teenager I didn’t pay any attention whatsoever..

A few weeks and a few calls went by an got my interview, I gotta admit she was pretty hot but never the less I got the job an feelin pretty good about myself the hours were 11 pm to 4 am in the morning on the airport ramp loading and unloading airplanes it was friggin cool.. But for the next 4 years I worked a full-time day job at the parts store then back to the gas station I worked at all through High School..So I was up at least 20 hours a day during the week, I dont know how I did it but I had my falling asleep on the job moments..

All my managers were super cool and actually helped me out, if it was cold and I did not have my uniform yet they would give me theirs.. If I needed something they would take the time and order it for me. If I had a question they would answer it, and I mean with out thinking and actually knowing it type of answer no Ummm Uhhh Ill get back to you.. They would actually say hey how are you and how was the work night..

The older guys were great and really taught me the ramp and how things go, now dont forget this was my  first job with a hugeeeeeeee group of others outside my neighborhood so I had a lot of learning to do and growing up to do to I just did not realize it yet..

I thought EVERYBODY worked like me right, well wrong I learned no matter how cool the guy is or how hot the girl is they can be lazier than 30 pound house cat

I also learned not everybody will like you for some-kind of bullshit reason, your race,your decent or what the hell ever and they will screw with you, I had a ramp agent have a hard-on for me forrrrrrr years until I transferred to another state..But everybody knew I was a good guy and a hard worker and all his accusations were bullshit so they always took my side over his anyway 

I look back at this time as the best time I ever had in this company

Now I know this for a fact and it just happened to a good friend of mine in the South Florida region.. I even know this asshole of a manager too he’s a real shady fuck !..

About a few months ago in a Employee SFA meeting three employees fessed up to giving this manager a bad review.. For his lack of being there , His Favoritism of a certain employee and most of all his lying bullshit. He thanked them for their honesty an well that was supposed to be it. Wrong ! a few weeks ago he informs the three employees that they are to be moved around to different systems. They ask what about everybody else, he does not give them a straight answer and says there have been complaints.. Now I have complained about one dispatcher and I have copies of the messages she sent me that were nasty and taunting.. ( Yes my Fellow couriers you can request your messages for the month from dispatch ! )

Now she is NOT being moved, but rather oddly ONLY the three employees who admitted to the manager they dinged him on his SFA for this and that are now being moved around ..

Aint that a Bitch !

Here at Fedex the month of  April is where we get to review our managers and upper management by completing the Survey Action Feedback ( SFA for short ) now its done over the computer and supposed to be Anonymous. But seriously is anything done over the computer really Anonymous. They lie to us about everything else why not this ..

Right before we had our my Senior Manager ( hes really a dumb ass politician they all are ) has a meeting with our group and all the other work groups.. He says I want to talk to you about the positive things that we have done for our employees. So for the next half hour I didn’t listen to him I was texting on my cell phone in a conversation that was more worthy..

Because for the whole year I have been forced to do tasks that others don’t do, I bring it up to Memphis 3 times and get a run around answer siding with my Senior Manager and regular managers..

I had my ID pulled by a manager that wasn’t mine, my manager actually let him do it didn’t try to get to the bottom of the situation.. There is a manager who had a habit of yelling at me, 3 times in a row I asked him to stop by they fourth time he literally screamed at me like a child… I calmly told him I was gonna write him up and he asks me for my ID for the night and sends me home..

Then the next day I get a Disiplinary letter in my file saying I was disrespectful to managent and I should seek People Help for my anger.. When it was the manager that yelled at me !!

So yea after 11 months of being treated like an asshole there was no way I was gonna give them a good SFA, not to mention the way you can answer is so vague.. Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, Strongly Disagree to Undecided..

There’s not even a comments section, so what the fuck right… You don’t even have to take it but they pressure you to. One Manger last year was even in the same room right next to some of his employees to intimidate them to give him a good review.. I guess workplace intimidation is only OK when managers and senior managers do it..
